Gail Hertz, MD, IBCLC, FAAP
Dr. Gail S. Hertz, M.D., IBCLC, FAAP, is a general pediatrician. She attended Penn State College of Medicine, graduating in 1997, and did her residency at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, PA. She has been an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1998.
She was inspired to write The Little Green Book when she was a first year student, pumping milk for her daughter at medical school. She used a busy call room for a place to pump. She found that the steady flow of students and residents that came to use the call room had never seen a mom pump milk for her baby. From that point on, she became the unofficial student expert on breastfeeding. Since entering private practice, Gail has taught hundreds of students and residents about the importance of breastfeeding. She published the first edition of The Little Green Book when she was a third year medical student.

The Little Green Book of Breastfeeding Management, 5th Edition
